Live edge oak table for Lake of Bays, Muskoka
Modern live edge maple table with sleek chrome base
We recently created a table for a couple who live in Toronto's High Park area with their two children; they had undertaken a quest for their dream live edge table. They chose Living Wood Design to bring their vision to life, and decided on the chrome Rosseau base. They chose a stunning set of salvaged, live edge silver maple slabs, with amazing grain and black spalt for their table. The myriad of colours in the wood grain looks perfect in their bright sunny home. The sculptural hand- carved wave that they chose for one end of the table compliments their artistic environment and personalities!

Massive pieces for Yabu Pushelberg’s Miami installation
We just completed an exciting project for Toronto/ New York design firm Yabu Pushelberg. We were commissioned to create a massive salvaged live edge walnut table from two enormous slabs; the table was made in two pieces, but joined as one 17' x 5' table designed for an open air condo garden installation that Yabu Pushelberg created in Miami. We also designed four solid walnut benches and six walnut block stools. Because the pieces will be in the open air with a view of the ocean, we applied a marine varnish to the pieces to preserve them. We're looking forward to seeing these pieces in the installation; we'll post photos soon!
New project for Toronto design firm Munge Leung
We just completed an exciting project for cutting edge Toronto design firm, Munge Leung. ( www.mungeleung.com) They have created fantastic spaces around the globe, so we were thrilled to work with them on a new space in downtown Toronto. They commissioned Living Wood Design to make two 10 ft. tables with sleek chrome bases for the sales centre for a new condo project at 11 Wellesley St. West, a project by Lanterra Developments (http://11wellesley-condos.com ) .
The Ambrosia Silver Maple bookmatched tables are finished in Rubio oil, and the grain is an amazing ‘fire ‘ pattern. The table design and chrome bases were designed by Munge Leung and custom made by Living Wood Design. The 10 ft. tables are created to look like mirror images, each on one side of a glass wall, and they appear to be running through the wall as if joined.
